Hey Jude is a fundraising effort for the American Cancer Society, inspired by my grandma Jude.
The name comes from her final radiation appointment, where the doctors played "Hey Jude" for her. They probably regretted playing it once the tears started, as she had to be reminded to stay still. Fortunately, the treatment worked, and she hasn’t stayed still since.
Mended is a 3-hour beginner workshop in the basics of mending: sewing on a button, fixing a ripped seam, patching a hole. Come give your clothes a longer life, learn alongside others, and leave with a few new skills (and a little less waste in the world).
